Pakistani singer Atif Aslam halted his concert Sunday to rescue a female fan from being harassed by several men behind her.

The 33-year-old singer, who is behind the 2008 local hit “Pehli Nazar Mein,” interrupted his “Karachi Eat 2017” gig and asked the unruly men, “Haven’t you seen a girl?” He added, “Your mother or sister could be here as well.” Aslam then pulled the girl on stage and directed the concert organizers to bring her to another place in the concert venue. He then reprimanded the boys and resumed his performance.

The incident was captured by several concertgoers, who uploaded it on social media and commended him for standing up against sexual harassment and abuse. “Atif Aslam stopped in the middle of [his] concert and scolded guy[s] who [were] harassing girls. This man deserves every bit of respect he has today,” a Twitter user said.

The South Asian celebrity also starred in films such as the 2011 social drama “Bol.” He has won several musical awards in Pakistan and held numerous concerts in the US, UK and the United Arab Emirates.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
