Pia Wurtzbach admits relationship with Marlon Stockinger
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has admitted that she is in a relationship with Filipino-Swiss race car driver Marlon Stockinger.
“We are together,” Wurtzbach confirmed to ABS-CBN in a live interview with Dyan Castillejo on Monday.
“I’m glad that I finally met somebody who’s very secure with himself and who understands my job, and who’s not afraid to let me have my moment such as right now, now that the competition is happening here,” she said.
Wurtzbach is in the country for the 2016 Miss Universe pageant. With her hectic work schedule, Stockinger, she said, remains understanding and open-minded. Wurtzbach added that they shared a lot in common.
Besides being half-Filipinos, both are Catholics.
“I’m also happy with the fact that he’s a Filipino and that he’s also a Catholic. I think we have a lot of things in common,” she stressed.
She cited Stockinger’s humor as one of his best traits.
“He’s very funny, like he’d always make me laugh. Hindi pilit yung parang dahil gusto ko siya, natatawa lang ako (My laughter is not contrived just because I like him, it’s for real),” she said.
“He knows a lot of things about me that I probably shouldn’t tell other people, but he’s cool with it,” she added.
The beauty queen also said she was at peace with their relationship because the people who matter most to her including those in the Miss Universe Organization approved of it.
“Esther (Swan, her manager) approves, that’s the number one thing,” she said. “Paula (Shugart, Miss Universe president) likes him,…the Miss Universe Organization likes him. That’s a huge relief on my part because, whew, I don’t have to worry,” she said.
Earlier in October Stockinger admitted he was seeing Wurtzbach but said they wanted to keep it low-key. Clarizel Abanilla
