Avril Lavigne has breathed new life to her musical career with her newest single, a collaboration with Japanese punk ensemble One Ok Rock.

This is the “Complicated” rocker’s first single in two years, during which her pop career went dormant trying to fence the effects of Lyme Disease. “It feels so hard to watch you hurt from that pain a lesson learned, this is how you find your way,” she duets in the anthem. “I’ve got so much love for you, my friend, ride or die until the end, but only you can save yourself.”

Idolator reported that the track is part of One Ok Rock’s newest album “Ambitions.” Formed in 2005, members Takahiro Moriuchi, Toru Yamashita, Ryota Kohama and Tomoya Kanki successfully released hits such as “Et Cetera,” “Clock Strikes” and “We Are.”

In an Instagram post two weeks ago, Lavigne, 32,  thanked her exhilarated fans for their incessant support. “I wanted to first thank my fans for your patience & support during my time away throughout my battle with Lyme Disease over the past 2 years,” she said.

Breaking out good news to her fans, Lavigne announced that she would release a new album this year. “It hasn’t just been a hard battle but it’s also been enlightening and will reflect in my new music, artistry, life, and personally. I’m really happy to announce that I am now working on new music and I will be releasing a new album in 2017. I can’t wait to open up and share my heart with you,” she said.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
