Some kids grow up knowing who their father is – others do not have the same luxury.

In the first episode of My Fairy Lady, Geumbi is abandoned by her aunt and is left with an address of someone who her aunt claims to be Geumbi’s father.

Geumbi and Mo Hwichul’s first meeting wasn’t in any way conventional; they met in court where Hwichul was about to be prosecuted for scamming an art collector.

Hwichul’s friends use Geumbi as a loophole to be able to get Hwichul out of jail. But much to Geumbi’s dismay, after being set free, Hwichul disowns Geumbi and claims that he doesn’t have a daughter, nor does he want one.

Unlike most 10 year olds, Geumbi is independent and is very mature for her age – this is rooted from the fact that she grew up with no knowledge of her mother and was barely cared for by her aunt. But she didn’t want to end up in an orphanage so she chooses to live under the custody of Hwichul.

The series focuses on the father-daughter relationship of Hwichul and Geumbi. Through Geumbi, Hwichul is taught the importance of family and the impact of fatherly love on a child.
