Cesar Montano

Cesar Montano

Guess List: After George Michael passed away last Christmas, another music icon is fighting for his life. I am not at liberty to divulge who the OPM legend is. He has always been feisty, so I’m sure the fighter in him will rock on.

A funny thing happened on the set of an indie movie. During a delicate scene with the lead star, one of the “extras” got carried away and had an erection. It took awhile before they could retake the scene, because the bit player had to “relieve” himself first. Poor guy! Was he starstruck or lovestruck?

Cesar’s musings

FEATURED STORIES

Cesar Montano is raring to embark on a new journey—as the chief operating officer of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB). What an exciting way for BFF Buboy (Cesar’s nickname) to welcome 2017.

During TPB’s Christmas party, he gamely held a miniconcert and jammed with his staff. Buboy played Santa Claus and raffled off cash prizes from his own pocket. TV and movie projects will take a backseat for now, but he will find a way to have the best of both worlds.

Buboy plans to mount a nationwide film festival, in which every region will showcase films in their own dialect. He also wants to do a movie that will be shot in the country’s scenic and historic spots.

Excerpts from Buboy’s musings:

I have a country to serve, not just my family, friends and myself. Don’t get me wrong. We shouldn’t neglect our personal responsibilities, but serving your country is serving your Great Righteous God, too. Our God is a God of order. We should never acquiesce to anything that is wrong and unfair to other people just to satisfy our needs.

We have to trust ourselves that doing what’s right and just is enough for us to achieve peace of mind and honor, which money can’t buy. Remind ourselves always that we don’t have to embrace what’s wrong to get popular and powerful. Today, God is my strength, protector, wisdom and provider. I’m a victor, not a victim, for He will fight all my battles for me.

ABS-CBN’s values-centric campaigns earned five silver and four bronze awards at the 10th Araw Values Advertising Awards, for “Mga Kwento ng Paglalakbay,” “Pope TYSM,” “Aral ng Edsa,” “Halalan,” “Galing ng Filipino,” among others.
