LOOK: Ai-Ai marks return to Star Cinema with new film project

Kapuso actress Ai-Ai delas Alas will celebrate the first daybreak of 2017 with a new film project for Star Cinema.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday, the Comedy Queen expressed her elation over the new film whose title is yet to be divulged. “Meeting with the bosses of Star Cinema with my manager Boy Abunda, ” she wrote. “It’s really the season of love…I am very happy and excited para sa 2017. New year, new movie.”

Before departing her home network for two decades, Delas Alas starred in Star Cinema box-office hits such as the “Tanging Ina” sequel. She was in the main cast of the 2012 comedy flick “Sisterakas” and “Enteng ng Ina Mo” with Vic Sotto.

Recently her indie film, Louie Ignacio’s “Area,” won a top prize in the 12th Eurasia International Film Festival in Kazakhstan.

Her alleged rift with the company sprang when Delas Alas criticized “Beauty and the Bestie,” the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival entry by late director Wenn Deramas. Delas Alas and Sotto’s film “My Bebe Love” trailed second to “Beauty and the Bestie” in earnings.
