The trailer of the third franchise of “Despicable Me” has been dropped online, and the film’s peppy narrative reveals that a new villain is coming to town.
In the movie, Felonius Gru (Steve Carell) has to brace his senses to man up and take on Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker), a scoundrel character inspired by musicians Prince and Michael Jackson. Bratt, donned in a purple jumpsuit and enormous shoulder pads, wiggles and moonwalks to the tune of Michael Jackson’s “Bad” in the film.
As a former child star whose show got called off, Bratt utilizes his groovy ’80s dance movies and “special” bubble gum to ditch security forces and heist a precious gemstone. In response, Gru and his wife, Anti-Villain League agent Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig), set out on a journey to counter Bratt’s plans.

Carell also voices Gru’s twin brother, Dru. The beloved minions disguise as DJs who sizzle the beach while their boss defeats Bratt in an ’80s dance-off.
The film comes after the victorious release of “Despicable Me” and “Despicable Me 2” in 2010 and 2013, respectively. Variety reported that a spin-off of the lovable series, “Minions,” triumphed in 2015 with US$1.2 billion (P59.8 billion) in global revenues.
