Lupe Fiasco has quit the music industry after allegations of “hate speech” entrenched in his newest track.

The “Superstar” rapper felt enraged after audio site SoundCloud removed his newest single, “N.E.R.D.,” which contained the anti-semitic lyrics, “Artists gettin’ robbed for their publishing / By dirty Jewish execs who think that it’s alms from the covenant.” The night before he announced his retirement, he bashed several Twitter users who accused him of insensitivity toward Jewish people.

“So, SoundCloud took the N.E.R.D. freestyle down because of ‘Hate Speech’? I’m done,” he tweeted on his private account on Tuesday, according to The Guardian. “Getting beat up for telling the truth is not how I plan on spending the rest of life. I get the hint, God. Yo Lupe fans, it’s been fun and I hope you’ve had fun. I’m officially not releasing any more music. Albums [are] canceled.”

Fiasco, 34, whose notable hits are “The Show Must Go On” and “Superstar,” previously planned to leave music in 2012. He also went incognito from social media and returned to Twitter in 2015. Because of the backlash, Fiasco aborted this year’s release of his albums “Drogas,” “Skulls” and “Roy.”  Gianna Francesca Catolico
