CHRISTMAS MEMORIES: Edgar Allan Guzman

What is your most memorable holiday season? How do you intend to celebrate Christmas this year?

My happiest Christmas was in 2012, the last one I had with my father, who died the following year because of aneurysm. He was in Hong Kong then for leisure. He used to sell medical equipment and was rewarded by his company with the trip for closing a good deal. On his first night, he died, in a bathtub. It was a shock. He had no prior diseases or symptoms; he was strong.

I was very happy because it was the last time we were complete. Tatatak ’yun sa puso ko. Every year since has been bittersweet. Of course, the rest of the family is there, but things just wouldn’t be the same.
