Christmas Memories: Tessie Tomas
What is your most memorable holiday season? How do you intend to celebrate Christmas this year?
One of the most memorable Christmases for me and my husband Roger (Pullin) was the time we spent in New York with my son Robin and his partner John. We got an apartment that was near Bloomie’s so shopping was very convenient.
One weekend, we drove to Boston to spend the day with John’s parents in their lovely home. We also had an excuse to stay in a quaint boutique hotel on our way back to New York from Boston.
We usually have Christmas lunch at my brother’s house in Marikina. It’s a potluck party and tons of Filipino dishes are served. The most awaited parts of the Christmas program are the games like Dubsmash and Miss Universe contest. We also hand out special awards for best in costume and most talented and, of course, we exchange gifts.
This year, we will celebrate the holidays with the family again. But for the New Year, we plan to visit the gorgeous beach house of our best friends, Jay and Margie Maclean, in Anilao, Batangas. —Bayani San Diego Jr.
