Christmas memories: Cherie Gil

t1126cherie gilWhat is your most memorable holiday season? How do you intend to celebrate Christmas this year?

This year, I am spending Christmas with my parents (Eddie Mesa and Rosemarie Gil) on the West Coast, but for the New Year, I will be with my kids on the East Coast. I will also meet up with (my nephew) Gabby Eigenmann’s family in New York. (Another nephew) AJ Eigenmann will join us, as well. More often than not, traveling to the United States has been my routine for the past 10 years, ever since my kids moved there.

I would have to say that my saddest Christmas was in 2014, when we lost my brother Ralph (Mark Gil). He was always the life of the party. Ralph and I were like twins; we were partners in prepping on Christmas Eve. While he cooked in the kitchen, I took charge of the setup and games. —BAYANI SAN DIEGO JR.
