Remember Bearwin Meily, the actor-comedian who loved to blurt out “Yahoong-yahoo!” in his shows?
From being a chubby bald man a decade ago, he has grown into a “batak” man with a robust and chiseled body.
In a viral photo uploaded on his Facebook page on Tuesday, Meily showed the product of years of undergoing strenuous workouts and lifting weights. “You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change,” he captioned his photo, which has gathered 25,000 likes and 1,100 shares as of this writing.
In a guesting in ABS-CBN’s “Singing Bee,” the 40-year-old comedian turned marathoner shared his uplifting voyage to trim down his weight.
“From 30 minutes, hanggang kilometer to kilometer. Then, nag-compete ako, internationally and locally, from 5K, 10K, 21K, to 42K. That’s it,” he said.

Meily skyrocketed his career in 1995 when he worked for the sitcom “Palibhasa Lalake” with Joey Marquez, Richard Gomez, John Estrada and John Lloyd Cruz. After directors discovered his talent in comedy, he chipped in at GMA 7’s longtime gag show “Bubble Gang” and “Kool Ka Lang” with Ramon Revilla and Ruffa Mae Quinto. He was also remembered for his magic tricks at “NAKS (Nakakabilib at Kakaibang Show)” and his funny antics in 2012 prime-time series “Makapiling Kang Muli,” which starred Richard Gutierrez and Carla Abellana.
