Carrillo met with the two Filipino personalities after Pacquiao’s win against Jessie Vargas in Las Vegas last Sunday.
“I met [the] super cool Miss Universe and I told her ‘I love the Philippines,’ I am committed to help your country,” he captioned his selfie with the German-Filipino beauty queen. He posted another selfie with Wurtzbach on his Instagram account on Wednesday.
In his snap with the People’s Champ, Carrillo congratulated his recent victory, “Congratulations brother, friend, champion and Senator Manny Pacquiao in this new victory. A great man of God. My love for you and the family.”
Carrillo starred alongside his love interest, Thalia, who played as the innocent yet alluring Rosalinda in the series. “Rosalinda” became an instant hit in the Philippines and eventually paved the way for a local remake starring GMA 7 love team Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana.
He also starred in a number of series including “Maria Isabel” (1997), “Ponderosa” (2001) and the romantic flick “Gone Hollywood” (2010).
In a gloomy turn of life events, Carrillo was arrested in 2014 after a woman accused him of coercively kissing her.
Carillo was no alien to the Philippine entertainment industry–he was a special guest in the 2000 drama series “Subic Bay” and visited the country several times. He last visited the Philippines in 2012 to interact with his fans and sign a deal with Viva Artists Agency. Gianna Francesca Catolico
