Heard: A new Valenciano arrives

Director-singer Paolo Valenciano and graphic-designer wife Samantha “Sam” Godinez-Valenciano welcomed their first child, Nataleia Martine, on Nov. 2. The 7.9-pound baby, nicknamed “Leia,” is the first grandchild of singer Gary V.

“There is a joy [that’s] inexplicable as I replay the sequences of Nov. 1… and 2. All I know is that it was All Souls’ Day… and I’m beyond blessed to have witnessed the ushering in of a new soul into our family today. I will always love you Paolo and Sam… and Leia,” Gary said on Instagram.

“I’ll never look at a mother the same way again—they are the superior species,” Paolo said on artist agency Manila Genesis’ Instagram post. —OLIVER M. PULUMBARIT
