WATCH: Pinoy singer’s astounding perfomance on X-Factor Australia
Another Filipino singer has received adulation in an international competition as Andrew Mark Baris wowed the audience with a powerful rendition of James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s World.”
The 33-year-old, who entered with the stage name Miss Powers, earned the approval of the X Factor Australia’s three judges—accomplished artists Adam Lambert, Guy Sebastian and Iggy Azalea—The Daily Mail reported.
The Sydney-based performer started his enigmatic performance on a high note by showing off his dance moves—before jumping into a split, as he belted out his first notes.
Aside from his surprising theatrics, the Philippines-born ballroom dancer and yoga teacher appeared to impress the judges with his amplified version of Brown’s gritty voice.
“American Idol” alumnus Lambert said he was amazed with Ms. Power’s split and added that he was truly entertained by his performance.
