Kris Aquino trashes rumors she wore Imelda Marcos’ necklace
Kris Aquino took her anger to Instagram on Monday to slam accusations surfacing online that she allegedly stole a necklace from the seized jewelry collection of former First Lady Imelda Marcos.
Several websites claimed that the TV personality was spotted wearing the glittering necklace in one of the events in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation event held last year in Manila.
In her lengthy Instagram post, coupled with a short clip of the necklace, she barked back at internet trolls who spread gossips about her. “It seems you don’t want me to stay quiet and your trolls want to keep perpetuating lies about me,” she said.
Aquino further mentioned that she bought her necklace from Italian jewelry brand Bottega Veneta with her hard-earned savings. She blasted out, “The necklace I wore was made from cubic zirconia & silver, hindi po diamonds. In other words, fake sila, although Bottega Veneta naman…And the truth is on my side- including credit card receipts.”
She issued a harsh warning to netizens who continue to perpetuate lies about her lavish lifestyle. “So this is a fair warning–stop lying about me if you don’t want your rotting skeletons unearthed,” she concluded her post.
Last year, the Presidential Commission on Good Government assured that Marcos’ jewelry collections were secured in a vault, making it impossible for anyone to steal them. Gianna Francesca Catolico
