Former matinee idol Mark Anthony Fernandez tested positive for marijuana but negative for shabu, reports said.

Detained at Angeles City police station 6 following his recent arrest, Fernandez was made to undergo drug test. According to the results, his system  was found to have THC-metobites considered as “dangerous drugs” and which are found in marijuana.

In Jun Veneracion’s tweet, he confirmed Fernandez’ drug results.

“LOOK: Results of drug test on Mark Anthony Fernandez – positive for marijuana, negative for shabu”, the GMA reporter said.

The actor faces charges for violation of RA 9165, or An Act Constituting the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Allegedly intercepted in his possession was a kilo of marijuana during his arrest.

The actor had said that he used marijuana for prevention of cancer and admitted that the intercepted dope was indeed his one year’s supply. But he later claimed that the police had planted the weed in his car.

The police denied his allegations and said marijuana residues were all over his car and his positive results for the marijuana drug test supported this claim.

Fernandez had once been involved with drugs years ago and had voluntarily entered a rehabilitation facility. He then went back to show biz and successfully regained his career.  Clarizel Abanilla
