When news about a live-action Hollywood adaptation of the much beloved “Ghost in the Shell” series broke out, people had mixed reactions especially when actress Scarlett Johansson was cast for the lead role. While the debates continue on who should have gotten the part instead, a series of teasers has been released including the movie’s release date.
The spots were initially aired during the Mr. Robot season finale and can be described as glitchy scenes from the movie that last for only seconds as opposed to the traditional teasers, reports The Verge.
Replicating some familiar scenes from the original source material, the teasers give clues to the aesthetic direction that director Rupert Sanders is going for.
“Ghost in the Shell” will premiere in theaters on March 31, 2017. Alfred Bayle
