Kelly Clarkson marks her ‘American Idol’ win 14 years ago
Kelly Clarkson, the winner of the first season of “American Idol,” flashed back at her sweet victory and enduring music journey she started 14 years ago in a tweet on Sunday.
“14 yrs ago 2day @AmericanIdol opened a door with such amazing opportunities & experiences for me! I am forever grateful & blessed! #heresto14more,” the 34-year-old singer tweeted.

On Sept. 4, 2002, a 20-year-old Clarkson was crowned as the first winner of the reality search show, which ended its 14th season in April. She wowed then judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell with her coronation song, “A Moment Like This.”
The season’s first runner-up, Justin Guarini, also rose to fame with her. Clarkson eventually won three Grammy awards and recorded 100 songs that topped the Billboard Charts, Billboard reported.
Recently she sealed a music deal with Atlantic Records after a 15-year affair with RCA Records.
