Millions of “AlDub” fans rejoiced festively on social media after Maine Mendoza answered Alden Richards with a sweet and romantic “yes.”

During the 59th weeksary of the phenomenal love team on Thursday, Mendoza, 21, finally sealed the deal with her on screen partner in an episode of noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”

During the segment, Richards, 24, felt jealous after Lola Nidora and Tinidora, played by veteran comedians Wally Bayola and Jose Manalo conversed about a certain “M.M.” who he thought was one of Mendoza’s suitors when she visited the United States.

A few possible names that begin with “M.M.” floated into the air, such as former actresses Mokey Manaloto and Maurine Mauricio. A baffled Richards was calmed when Lola Tinidora said that “M.M.” was Mendoza’s cousin.

To the audience’s glee, the actor asked his “Kalyeserye” sweetheart if she loves him back.

Then, a split-screen clip of the couple’s beginnings, struggles, and “kilig” moments was aired, and the “Dubsmash queen” declared that it was the “right time” and finally agreed to be Richard’s girlfriend.

The rom-com duo began electrifying fans since July 2015, when Mendoza, then a social media sensation, made her debut appearances as a flinty nanny with an amazing talent in dubsmash. Soon, she was infatuated with Richard’s good looks and their “Romeo and Juliet” love story rose to stardom. RAM
