Singer Aiza Seguerra, a known supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, joined militant groups on Monday afternoon for a rally like no other.

Instead of burning effigies and skirmishes between protesters and policemen, the rally for Duterte’s first State of the Nation Address (Sona) featured murals and supportive militants.

Seguerra was immediately spotted among the emcees onboard the truck carrying the mobile stage of the rallyists.

When the main contingent arrived outside Batasang Pambansa, where the Sona will be held, Aiza performed two songs for the crowd.

It was part of a skit where the singer pretender to be a village official (barangay tanod).

Sitting on top of a metal drum and playing her guitar, she first sang her original composition “Pagbabago Kay Duterte.”

She sang “Sana” next, which features the lyrics, “Sana’y pag-ibig na lang ang isipin nang bawat isa sa mundo (I hope every person in the world would just think about love).”

Despite being a Duterte supporter, Seguerra has in the past asked her fellow supporters not to become “blind followers” and to respect the opinions of others.
