The sequel to “Finding Nemo” in 2003 beat the previous record held by “Inside Out” in 2015, which garnered P97.2 million during its opening weekend.

Its opening day gross of P10.3 million also now holds the record for the highest first day take for any title released by either Disney or Pixar.

“Finding Dory” debuted in the United States with a massive $136.2 million, sailing past through opening day gross of “Shrek the Third” in 2007 ($121.6 million). The film also ranked as the second best June opening, just behind “Jurassic World’s” $208.8 million.
