Director casts ‘UK’s loneliest dog’ in Transformers 5

Freya, a six-year-old epileptic Staffordshire bull terrier and “Britain’s loneliest dog”, will be lonely no more. She will have a debut role in the fifth installment of the sci-fi film “Transformers: The Last Night”.

According to The Guardian and Hollywood Reporter, “Transformers” director Michael Bay, who lighted up the careers of Megan Fox, Jack Reynor and Shia LaBeouf, will cast Freya in the film’s franchise after reading about her on social media. There is no specific role yet for Freya.

The welcome news popped out after British news site Mirror called Freya “Britain’s loneliest dog.” She had been rejected and passed over by previous owners for six years. She has resided in an animal shelter in Liverpool, UK, for six months and was overlooked by 18,720 visitors.

Bay announced the news on social media site Twitter.

Aside from a groundbreaking role in “Transformers: The Last Night”, which is set to shoot in the UK this year, Freya has bright prospects to find a more loving environment, as Bay will scout for a new home for the isolated pooch, or perhaps take her in as one of his own.

Bay is also a loving pet owner of two bullmastiffs named Bonecrusher and Grace, which chaperone him between his homes in Los Angeles, California, and Miami, Florida.
