WATCH: Cannes futuristic movie ‘100 Years’ to premiere in 2115

Movie fanatics of sci-fi films would have to endure a little patience, since this new film visualizing the world’s future will not be screened in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival until 2115.

The movie, “100 Years – The Movie You Will Never See”, directed by Robert Rodriguez, will have its official premiere on November 18, 2115. American actor and director John Malkovich, 62, will be the film’s protagonist.

“We wanted a safe box that can be opened like never before: with nothing else but time. Once the door is shut, the countdown begins and there is no way of opening it until the one hundred year countdown is complete on November 18, 2115,” according to Ludovic du Plessis, Louis XIII Global Executive Director, in a press statement on Tuesday.

The film was inspired by the astounding patience it takes to create a decanter of the luxurious champagne, Louis XIII cognac, which takes approximately 100 years before it can be best enjoyed. Gianna Francesca Catolico
