Colton Haynes, the star of American television series Arrow, has been merry and queer for a long time, according to US showbiz site Entertainment Weekly.

Fans of the show speculated that Haynes had a ‘secret gay past’ after some of his modeling photos cracked on blog websiteTumblr. The 27-year-old hottie countered on the site at the time with “Was it a secret?”

On the other hand, he also subtly explained that he is not ready to publicly ‘come out of the closet’ and be proud.

After the online leakage, Haynes entered rehab for anxiety issues and was back-and-forth from the hospital during the past three months.

“It was a complete shock. I wasn’t ready to be back in the headlines,” he disclosed in a recent interview with the news site.

“People want you to be that GQ image that you put out, but people don’t realize what it’s like to act 24 hours a day. I’d go home and I was still acting.”

Although he is not open with his sexuality, he said that his family and closest colleagues were aware that he was ‘out’.

“It took me so long to get to this point, but I’m doing so good,” Haynes wrapped up. “I’m happier than I’ve ever been and healthier than I’ve ever been, and that’s what I care about.” Gianna Francesca Catolico
