Andrea Bocelli, the world’s renowned tenor, graced an elated crowd at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday for a one-night spectacle filled with magical classical music. The show was mounted by promoter Music Management International (MMI).

The 57-year-old world-class Italian singer shared the stage with Mexican lyric soprano Maria Katzarava, Italian flutist Andrea Griminelli, and West End talent Christine Allado.

Local musical ensembles such as ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ateneo Chamber Orchestra backed Bocelli in his dazzling musical tour in the country. The Filipino orchestra was directed by Gerard Salonga and the ensemble was conducted by Carlo Bernini.

Last night’s show featured classical Italian opera songs from his new album “Cinema”, so as theme songs characterized in popular iconic movies such as “Brucia La Terra”(Godfather), “Maria” (West Side Story), “La Chanson de Lara” (Dr. Zhivago), and “Music of the Night” (Phantom of the Opera).

During the concert’s first act, Bocelli stunned the audience with his Italian and English pieces – so as his duet with Katzarava. The second act kicked-off with Allado’s rendition of the song “As If We Never Said Goodbye” and their duet of the song “Cheek to Cheek”.

During the two-hour show, Bocelli was cheerfully lauded in every performance, especially during his ravishing performance of the song “Be My Love” (Las Redes Del Amor).
