Television giant ABS-CBN has cancelled the afternoon game show “Game ng Bayan” after more than a month of being on air.

In a statement released on Wednesday, ABS-CBN Corporate Communications head Kane Errol Choa said that the game show, which features Robin Padilla, Alex Gonzaga, MJ Lastimosa, Eric Nicolas and Negi, will air its final episode on April 15, Friday.

“During its limited run, ‘Game ng Bayan’ brought fun and excitement to Kapamilyas around the world and enabled residents in participating barangays to provide resources they need in their communities by working together in time-bound challenges in the show,” the statement read.

Choa thanked the hosts, the production staff and the viewers for the support to the show.

Following the cancellation of the show, Padilla is said to focus on “Pilipinas Got Talent” while the other hosts will have other projects.

“ABS-CBN however will continue to develop programs that will not only give viewers an enjoyable viewing experience but will also bring joy and cheers to barangays across the country,” he said.

Game ng Bayan debuted on March 7 on the Kapamilya network’s “Kapamilya Gold” block. It was pitted against GMA-7’s “Wowowin.” CDG
