‘Captain America’ interactive exhibit stirs fans to ‘make a stand’
Less than a month before the May 9 polls that would elect a new chief executive, Filipino Marvel fans are faced with a tough choice: Are they in Team Cap or Team Iron Man?
But before the premiere of “Captain America: Civil War,” fans may indulge themselves first in interactive activities and promos that will hype them up for the much awaited release of the Marvel superhero movie.
This is possible through SM City North Edsa’s Activity Center, which features life-size characters up to 8-feet tall, activity booths, and online promos that will bring the lucky winner to the “Captain America: Civil War” Asian premiere in Singapore.
“Armed with fun activities, guests will pick from different challenges related to the powers of each superhero. On Team Captain America, patrons can select from challenges such as ‘Winter Soldier,’ ‘Scarlett Witch,’ and ‘Hawkeye.’ On Team Iron Man’s side, players can choose from ‘Black Panther,’ ‘Black Widow,’ and ‘Vision.’ Any two activities garner an instant premium item,” SM Cinemas said in a statement.
“Just in time for voting season, fans are encouraged to be the hero and make a stand by voting in the coming election. Patrons can also make a stand by choosing #SMTeamCap or #SMTeamIronMan online to win a 3-day 2-night stay in Singapore and a chance to see Chris Evans and other stars LIVE at Marvel’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Blue Carpet Premiere at the Marina Bay Sands,” it added.

“When you’re working on a Marvel film, there’s a sense of showmanship that goes along with the movies, and no exhibitor exploits that better than IMAX,” Russo said.
“Civil War” found the Avengers in a schism over government oversight of the superheroes, which resulted in two fractures—Team Iron Man and Team Cap.
The film, slated for an April 27 release in all IMAX theatres and SM Cinemas, features Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd and Frank Grillo, with William Hurt and Daniel Brühl. JE
