Filipino-Mexican singing sensation Jessica Sanchez returned to the “American Idol” stage on Friday (Manila time) as she capped off a ballad medley featuring the show’s alumni.
The 20-year-old Sanchez, who placed first runner-up in season 11, delivered a rendition of Celine Dion’s “The Prayer,” following performances of fellow past contestants Katherine McPhee, Casey James, Carly Smithson, Clay Aiken, Amber Holcomb and Ruben Studdard.
Sanchez’s comeback came after four years following her runner-up finish to Philip Philips when she was still 16 years old. She also sang “The Prayer” during the Idol finale in 2012.
