“YOUR FACE Sounds Familiar” has turned out to be a most productive showcase for veteran singer-actress Karla Estrada. For years, the “plump but still sexy” star was best known as Daniel Padilla’s “momager,” but the talent and charisma she showed on the  impersonation tilt effectively reminded viewers and TV people of her uncommon appeal, staying power and “K” (for “karapatan”— and Karla)!

Karla has been such a successful “comeback comer” that ABS-CBN has just signed her to an exclusive two-year contract.

Stellar projects

What new stellar projects should ABS-CBN think up to for its “new” contract star? They should have strong comedy and musical components to them.

She can also talk up a storm, so a TV gabfest or magazine show would be similarly suited to her specific range of performing skills.

Another star who should be given a new chance to shine is Karel Marquez. She’s been given an edgy stage-musical showcase in  the stellar cast of the scintillatingly sexy spoof of “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Her having been tapped to perform with “imported” stellar players should be local producers’ cue to further boost her career with well-chosen and savvily conceptualized projects of their own.

Karel is so promising that she can click on a wide range of performing platforms—theater, musical shows and concerts, TV, film—so, her options are opulently plentiful and diverse!
