Maine Mendoza, Jeron Teng win in Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards

TV personality and the other half of the “AlDub” love team Maine Mendoza and De La Salle University cager Jeron Teng both got an orange blimp for winning at the 2016 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

Fans voted for Mendoza to win the Favorite Pinoy Personality Award. She beat out Enrique Gil, James Reid and Kathryn Bernardo for the said title.

She was not able to get her blimp personally, however, she opted to give a short message to her fans. “I’m away for vacation, maybe this will do, for now. I love you all,” she said.

Meanwhile, Teng was picked by fans as their Favorite Asian Sports Star. He beat out Pandelela of Malaysia, Kim Kurniawan of Indonesia and Irfan Fandi of Singapore for the award.

In his message, the La Salle basketball star said he hopes to inspire kids to become a student-athlete like him.

“I wanna thank everyone who supported and voted for me. And I just feel really blessed right now, and I just hope for the kids to… I hope I can inspire them to be a student-athlete like me. And God bless everyone,” he said. AJH/RAM
