Jolina’s latest album ‘Back to Love’ turns gold
It has been seven years since Jolina Magdangal released an album. So, in her recent return to the recording studio, she made sure to savor every moment.
“I so missed the feeling, the process. Everything felt new to me,” she told reporters at a press conference for her latest album, “Back to Love,” which achieved gold status after selling more than 7,500 copies just two weeks after its release in November last year.
The 11-track record is a compilation of the kind of music Jolina became popular for in the late 1990s and early 2000s—romantic, sentimental ballads.
Some of the musicians who contributed compositions include Jamie Rivera, Jungee Marcelo, Yeng Constantino, Nyoy Volante and Joven Tan, who wrote the carrier single, “Ikaw Ba ‘Yon?”
“Many of these are sad songs, but sang in an uplifting way. I want people to relate to the music,” she said, adding that they weren’t targeting any particular market when they put the record together.
