Reunion in Batanes

As early as November last year, US-based nurse Aurie Zaguirre inquired about our Batanes Photo Safari. She said her nursing batch from class ’69 of the Philippine Women’s University wanted to travel together as part of its reunion—and Aurie was organizing the trip.
The group, made up of Rosenda Lim Paus, Encarnacion Quijano Oliver, Teresita San Juan, Erlinda Tecson Joven, Minda Mateo Fuentes, Jane Malvar Piad and Aurora Fortuno Zaguirre chose to travel from Feb. 12 to 15. We were billeted in three different lodging houses. The ladies behaved like college girls again—their laughter was infectious! They pranced on the velvety grass of rolling hills and enjoyed flying kites in Sabtang.
On our last night, which fell on Valentine’s Day, our host and tour provider, Ruth Pacana, hosted a sumptuous dinner under the sky. It was an unforgettable experience for all of them!
