Russell Peters, the Canadian standup comic famous for his irreverent style of observational humor that pokes fun at racial stereotypes, will hold a one-night show, mounted by Midas Promotions, on Feb. 22 at  Kia Theatre, as part of his ongoing “Almost Famous” world tour (call 911-5555).

If you’re always online, chances are you have already seen some of the 45-year-old comedian’s viral clips from past specials, wherein he fondly talks about his traditional Indian upbringing in Canada; and lampoons the quirks of various Asian ethnicities—good and bad—and gets away with it.

Always an equal opportunity offender, Peters has, in his past routines, taken hilarious jabs at the Filipinos’ undying love for karaoke and the horrible Manila traffic. Hailed as Forbes’ fourth highest-earning comic, Peters also loves engaging in some improvisational banters and good-natured ribbing with fans in the audience—one of his show staples.

“I use the interaction to take me from bit to bit. Some guys go onstage with a script and don’t deviate from it. That’s not my style—it’s very collaborative, and each show is unique,” said Peters, who has sold out arenas in Sydney, London, Singapore, Toronto and New York. Allan Policarpio
