In her acceptance speech at the 58th Grammy Awards on Monday (Tuesday morning in Manila), Taylor Swift delivered this message: “As the first woman to win album of the year twice, I want to say to all the young women out there: Some people will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments and fame. But if you just focus on the work and not let them sidetrack you, someday, when you get to where you’re going, you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you [who] put you there—and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”

The message is largely believed to be Swift’s answer to Kanye West’s scathing lyrics about her in his latest song, “Famous.”

Aside from Swift (who won for “1989”), other major Grammy winners included Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars (Record of the Year for “Uptown Funk”), Ed Sheeran (Song of the Year for “Thinking Out Loud”) and Meghan Trainor (Best New Artist). Rito Asilo
