Gloc-9 releases free single
FOR THE FIRST time in his career, rap artist Gloc-9 recently released a free single as a gift to his fans.
Titled “Pareho Tayo,” the independently produced track can be downloaded from Gloc-9’s account on Soundcloud, an online audio-sharing platform popular among aspiring musicians.
“I thought it was the right time to come up with something the fans could enjoy for free. It’s my way of thanking the people who have supported me through the years,” said Gloc-9, who’s currently working on a new album with the working title, “Sukli.” “I’m excited to share this with them!”
“Pareho Tayo” was written by Gloc-9, arranged by his bandmates and features Allan Mitchell of the vocal group Daddy’s Home, who sings the chorus—the melody of which had been sitting in his phone for a year.
The song, like most of his past material, is social commentary at its core.

But if this could inspire and give them that extra push, that would be my reward,” said Gloc-9, whose real name is Aristotle Pollisco.
More relevant
The message “Pareho Tayo” conveys is even more relevant now, given the approaching elections. And with lyrics that go, “Dahil dinig ko ang lahat ng inyong hinaing /Hawakan mo (ang) aking kamay dahil ako’y ikaw rin,” the song seems like it would make a fitting theme for a political campaign.
However, asked if he would mind lending “Pareho Tayo” to a candidate, Gloc-9 was as wary on matters concerning politics as he was the last time he faced the press. “I haven’t thought of these things yet,” he stressed.
