‘My Bebe Love’ director, fans cry foul over MMFF ‘ticket swapping’
The first day of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) was plagued by controversy.
Fans of the MMFF entry “My Bebe Love,” which features Vic Sotto, Ai-ai delas Alas and the love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, took to social media their confusion after discovering that the tickets they bought were swapped to another movie.
A Twitter user named Monica Mapalo claimed that she watched “My Bebe Love” but got tickets for the Star Cinema film “Beauty and the Bestie” instead.
“My bebe love ang pinanood ko.. Beauty and the beasty yun nsa ticket ko….. Hawhaw Ganoon ba tlaga yun?#ALDUBMyBebeLoveSaPASKO,” she said.
Mapalo’s tweet has since gone viral.
Other netizens also claimed that they were victims of the alleged ticket swapping.

Article continues after this advertisementOn Twitter, My Bebe Love’s director Jose Javier Reyes confirmed that “ticket swapping” has occurred in some cinemas.
“Got word from producer: IT IS TRUE. Make sure that the title of the movie on YOUR ticket is what you want to watch.Beware of ticket swapping,” Reyes said.
Reyes asked fans to be calm and check their tickets before watching the movie.
“Be calm. Just double-check the tickets issued to you before leaving the counter. All will be well. Be happy. It is Christmas.#MyBebeLove,” he said in a separate tweet.
During the first hour of MMFF’s opening day, Reyes said that his movie has reached the P1-milion mark.
The Metro Manila Development Authority, which oversees the MMFF, has not yet released the official box office numbers for the film festival’s first day.
The eight entries for the 41st MMFF are: My Bebe Love, Beauty and the Bestie, All You Need is Pag-ibig, Haunted Mansion, Buy Now, Die Later, Walang Forever, Honor Thy Father, and Nilalang. AJH
