Fusion 2016: A better Philippines imagined through music

03:28 PM December 10, 2015

MANILA, Philippines – Amidst the daily dose of negativity in the lives of the Filipinos, the Filipino youth remains hopeful. Everyone is looking forward to 2016 as a year of change: a new leader, a new direction, and a brighter future for the nation. What better way to express the desires of  each optimistic soul than to be part of a big movement using Music as a platform to influence positivity. This is what Fusion 2016 is all about: an avenue to voice out a young generation’s aspirations for a better Philippines.

For its launch, Fusion 2016 sought to involve ordinary Filipinos through crowd-sourced lyrics and materials that will become the battle cry anthem of the event. Through school tours, messages of each student were amplified via TVC, jingle, online and radio materials. It gave everyone, artists and music lovers alike, the same venue in voicing out their hopes and aspirations for the country. Everyone was eager to let their voices be heard, having the youth and the artists themselves as the forerunner of this movement.

On January 29, 2016, Friday, we shall celebrate the movement by manifesting these messages of hope through a bigger music festival, with a better experience and bolder performances from the country’s top music artists. Never-before-seen collaborations from different OPM artists of different genres will be featured in one night. A whole day of world-class Filipino music through pocket stages, activity booths, and other attractions will create excitement like no other concert has done before. Most of all, there will be a chance to be one with both artists and ordinary Filipino people support the same battle cry in imagining a better Philippines through music.
