Viewers love to peep into stars’ private lives, partly to confirm their envious and cynical belief that they aren’t as perfect and thrilling as they’re supposed to be. Thus, some people prefer to watch reality TV shows about messy and flawed celebrities, like the Kardashians—and now, on the E! channel, “Stewarts & Hamiltons,” about the “blended” families of George Hamilton, Alana Stewart and Rod Stewart and their “complicated” progeny.

It appears that Alana was first married to George (1972-76), then to Rod (1979-84). Her kids, Ashley Hamilton, Kimberly Stewart and Sean Stewart, are also in their “blended family” show, as is George Hamilton Jr., their half-sibling, whose mother is former model Kimberly Blackford. Really complicated, right?

Well, that’s not necessarily a bad thing on TV  “reality” shows, which even encourage their resident stars and starlets to be as “messy” as possible, to divertingly confuse and delight voyeuristic viewers!

Judged by that standard, the relatively new “Stewarts & Hamiltons” show passes with flying colors, since all of its stellar participants are certified and full-fledged characters!

‘Blended’

George, Alana and Rod are more famous than their “blended” progeny, so that pushes the kids to work harder at making a colorful and even ornery impression on viewers!

Still, we must observe that the seniors are more fascinating than their kids—especially George Sr., who looks really old and even “preserved” now, but can still command attention—not always for the right reasons!

In fact, on a recent telecast of “Stewarts & Hamiltons,” the original playboy who used to be linked to some of the most beautiful women in the world, including a fabulous Filipina, still managed to upstage everybody else!

His reputation precedes him, that’s why—even if his dashing, lover-boy looks have, ah, deteriorated to a noticeable and regrettable extent. He now looks “frozen,” possibly due to too many botox injections to artificially “iron out” the many age lines on his stellar countenance.

Interestingly, however, a few shots of Hamilton done separately in a TV studio with extra lights and camera filters in full play, manage to make him look as young and handsome as he was many decades ago! The wonders of unreal reality television, indeed!

After George Sr., the show’s most interesting participant is Alana, now a septuagenarian but still managing to look much younger than her ex-husbands—without the benefit of studio shot!

For his part, Rod Stewart is too laid-back to make much of an impression. Perhaps his stellarly competitive days are long over?

The offspring who comes off best is the youngest, George Jr. Only 15 years old, he already evinces his famous dad’s looks and “lover-boy” appeal, and could become quite a ladies’ man in his own right, even before he hits his 20s.

In fact, George Jr. has publicly admitted that he’s already lost his virginity—but protests that it was at the girl’s initiative, not his!
