Zaijian reprises Santino role in ‘Banal’
MANILA, Philippines—Zaijian Jaranilla, who played Santino in the prime time series “May Bukas Pa,” reprises his miracle-boy role in a special documentary that chronicles the most inspiring moments in the life of Blessed John Paul II.
Joining Jaranilla in “Banal” is veteran actor Jaime Fabregas, who played Father Anthony in the phenomenal series.
“Kids will learn a lot from ‘Banal,’” Zaijian, 9, said in an interview with “Umagang Kay Ganda.” “They will learn how to be obedient, to pray all the time and just become good boys and girls.
“When Blessed John Paul II was still alive, he was like a celebrity—only better. My grandmother told me a lot of people wanted to see him.”
The documentary includes inspiring images and stories from people who had direct access to the Holy Father as faith testimonies of Filipino devotees who claim to have received healing through his intercession.
The documentary airs tonight after “Gandang Gabi Vice” on ABS-CBN.
