The Weeknd enters plea in Vegas officer punching case
LAS VEGAS— The Canadian R&B artist known as The Weeknd has pleaded no contest to punching a Las Vegas police officer in a hotel scuffle in January.
Defense attorney Shane Emerick declined comment Monday about Abel Tesfaye’s plea Wednesday to a misdemeanor battery charge.
Court records show a Las Vegas judge agreed to dismiss the charge if the 25-year-old Tesfaye stays out of trouble and completes 50 hours of community service.
