FLOR Amores, televiewer: “Xymon Ezekiel Pineda, the boy playing Onyok in ‘Ang Probinsyano,’ is delightful to watch because he seems to be—not acting at all. His performing style and delivery of lines are devoid of ‘pa-porma’ common among child actors—he is perfect for the role!”

Danilo Noay, office employee: “The choice of TV talents and extras is also important, but the ‘pwede na’ attitude in TV casting is prevalent in local teleseryes. Spot them in single-scene roles as doctors, lawyers, priests etc. The problem starts when they’re given lines that they deliver awkwardly or in over-the-top fashion—you can’t help but say, ‘Ay, ekstra ‘yan!’”
Russell Vidal, student: “I laud the efforts of Cebuano filmmaker Remton Zuasola for helming films that cast Cebuano-speaking actors. I hope other talented filmmakers will follow his lead. Somebody should organize a Visayan film festival! With proper promotion, I’m sure there’s a market for well-made Visayan movies.”
