5 PH films in Hawaii fest

Five Filipino films will be shown at the Hawaii International Film Festival, to be held in Honolulu, from Nov. 12 to 22. The Filipino films in this year’s lineup include Jerrold Tarog’s historical epic “Heneral Luna,” Jason Paul Laxamana’s gritty drama “Magkakabaung,” Paul Soriano’s sports biopic “Kid Kulafu,” Dodo Dayao’s supernatural horror “Violator” and Erik Matti’s crime thriller “Honor Thy Father,” which is nominated for the Halekulani Golden Orchid award.
