With tweets reaching millions everyday, the love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, also known as “Yaya Dub” has continued to occupy top spots in the Twitter worldwide trends and has piqued the interest of people around the globe.

The trending split-screen lovers had Taiwanese actress Barbie Xu wondering what is the “AlDub” craze which took social media by storm.

In a tweet posted on her official Twitter account on Monday, Xu, who became famous in the Philippines for her role as Shan Cai in the hit “Meteor Garden” series, asked: “What is Aldub it’s trending everyday?”

AlDub fans answered Xu’s question by saying that it is a “phenomenal” loveteam in the Philippines.

Xu’s tweet has been retweeted 1,706 times as of posting time.

Upon reading the answers of the fans, Xu thought that AlDub is a pet.

“I thought its a pet,” she said.

Last Saturday, AlDub broke another Twitter record when 12 million tweets were posted about the loveteam’s first date. AJH
