Mocha Girls arrested in Malaysia for working without permit

Members of the all-female sing and dance group Mocha Girls have been arrested in Malaysia for working without the necessary permits, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Friday.

In a press briefing, Foreign Affairs Secretary Charles Jose said Malaysia’s immigration department decided to fine the Mocha Girls instead of filing charges.

In a Facebook post, the group said they would “tell what really happened” in Malaysia when they arrive in the Philippines.

“We will tell the full story of what really happened here in Malaysia when we arrive [in] Manila,” the post read.

The group arrived in the Philippines earlier this Friday after they have paid their fines.
