Sabotage? GMA hits SkyCable for ‘Eat Bulaga’ signal disruption
GMA Network has filed a complaint before the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) against cable channel provider SkyCable, a subsidiary of ABS-CBN Corporation, due to the alleged signal loss during the airing of noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”
GMA, through its Senior Vice President for Engineering Engr. Elvis B. Ancheta and Vice President for Legal Affairs Lynn P. Delfin, asked NTC to act on the matter for subscribers who are supposedly “being short-changed through the irresponsible acts of their service provider.”
The Kapuso network collated tweets from netizens based in Metro Manila, Bacolod and Iloilo dating from July 19 to August 21, claiming that the network’s signal before, during or after Eat Bulaga is being “sabotaged” by SkyCable.
The media giant claims that signal loss during the airing of the noontime show is a violation of Section 6 of the Revised Rules and Regulations Governing Cable Television Systems in the Philippines.
One of the segments of Eat Bulaga is the “Kalye Serye” which features the “AlDub” love team of actor Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, also known as “Yaya Dub.”
