Touch and go for ‘Wowowin’

WILLIE Revillame is reportedly in talks with Kapuso execs.

It was a bombshell: After only 12 episodes, “Wowowin” was going off the air—at least for now, according to a report.

After weeks of speculation came the “confirmation.” Show biz columnist Cristy Fermin, in a report that came out in the Inquirer tabloid Bandera, said that the July 26 episode of Willie Revillame’s weekly variety show on GMA 7 was its last.

A production insider, however, told the Inquirer that there was still a plan to tape an episode on Saturday, for possible airing on Aug. 2.

Another insider confirmed the rumor that Fermin mentioned in her column, that Revillame had been meeting with Kapuso executives on the possibility of moving “Wowowin” to a different time slot and turning it into a daily show. (Its old time slot was Sundays, 3:30 p.m. It premiered on May 10. )

GMA 7 was scheduled to meet on the matter this week. Nothing is definite yet, but details are expected to be finalized before the week is over. (GMA 7 has also yet to find a replacement program at presstime.)

In the meantime, the show’s staffers were informed of a taping on Saturday.

The show will go on … for now. Or until further notice.
