Before he was granted clearance to leave the Philippines, American singer Chris Brown made extensive use of his various social media accounts to voice his concern regarding his situation.
Brown tweeted a couple of comments after he was barred from leaving due to an estafa complaint worth $1 million stemming from his no-show on Dec. 31, 2014, at Philippine Arena.
“This is a very serious situation and someone needs to be held accountable for mixing my name up in all this. I’ve done nothing wrong!!!” he tweeted. “I have nothing to do with anything going on right now. I came back to Manila to do a make-up show for New Years. I did the show three days ago.”
The R&B artist held a concert on July 21 at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
As of article posting time, his tweets have since been taken down.
Brown also posted a few videos on his Instagram account, which consisted of pleas and rants interspersed with dance moves. He also not-so-subtly called on US President Barack Obama to help him.
One video featured the singer on his knees, saying, “Please, please, let us leave, please.”
Like his earlier tweets, the videos have also been removed.

Brown’s fans weren’t all too happy to hear of his “detention,” reviving a widely shared hashtag which gained popularity during his various court appearances.

Fans in Hong Kong also did not take kindly to Brown’s extended stay in the country, which caused the singer to miss his scheduled Hong Kong performance date.
