‘Rosita’ wins in Moscow

Danish filmmaker Frederikke Aspöck’s “Rosita,” starring Filipino actress Mercedes Cabral in the title role, won the c award for best director at the 37th Moscow International Film Festival.

Cabral told the Inquirer: “I am happy to be part of the film. Frederikke deserves to win because she’s good and hands-on with her actors—especially with me since I had no formal training.

“We had one-on-one sessions to dissect my character. She helped me a lot.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
