Liza Soberano defends Enrique Gil after suffering wardrobe malfunction

ACTRESS Liza Soberano defended her on-screen love interest and “Forevermore” co-star Enrique Gil after she had a wardrobe malfunction during the finale of ABS-CBN show “Your Face Sounds Familiar” Sunday night.

Soberano was singing with Gil in a production number when her white tube top loosened. She gracefully handled the situation and held up her tube top until the end of their performance.

“Respect Enrique, please, he was there for me just like any gentleman would be for a girl in trouble,” the “Just The Way You Are” actress told one Twitter user who commented that the actor wanted the wardrobe malfunction to happen.

She also defended her stylist from critics.

“And please don’t be mad at my stylist; it wasn’t his fault. Nobody wanted it,” Soberano added.

Sunday’s incident marked the second time that the 17-year-old actress suffered from a wardrobe malfunction on national television.

During an ASAP20 episode last May, Gil helped his on-screen partner in covering a zipper in her dress that kept on opening.

Meanwhile, Melai Cantiveros was hailed as the grand champion of the hit improvisation show, “Your Face Sounds Familiar.”
